Programme tomorrow!

What do you do with all those books that you read, movies you've already seen,
CD's you've listened to a few times? Bring them to the Teen Book/Media Swap!
All teens are invited to trade in their gently used books, magazines, CD's,
movies, & games. Receive credits for your stuff, and trade your credits for stuff
from other teens. While we swap and trade, we'll play a pop culture trivia game
for prizes! Only legal, original items may be traded. Games to trade must be
rated "T for Teen" or below. If you have any questions, call Tiffany, the Teen
Librarian at 905-579-6111, ext. 5238
For tweens/teens ages 11-19

The eSchool Scavenger Hunt is On!

Take a picture of the eSchool logo with inflatable pool toys? No problem. While hugging a strange looking tree? Got it! With a disturbing looking meal? My mom makes creepy food all the time! While wearing a bib at a restaurant? That could be a problem...

Big Prizes - Scholarship, iPod, movie passes!
It's time to go photo crazy and collect pictures of you or a friend holding your eSchool sign with a collection of 'interesting' target items / places / people. For the next few months, eSchool is holding a contest inviting everyone to join in and go out scavenging for cool and funny photos. The winner receives a thousand-dollar eSchool scholarship, an Apple iPod Shuffle and 4 movie passes!

Get photos of you and the eSchool sign...
Helping an old lady cross the street
Re-enacting a scene from a Disney movie
With a giant replica of something small
Wearing a bib at a restaurant
With a strange looking animal
With a vinyl LP, a cassette, a CD and an mp3 player

(view complete list)

This contest is open to students everywhere! Come visit the official Scavenger Hunt site for the full list of scavenger hunt items as well as the full contest rules, and then upload your contest photo entries!

Something to look forward to?

This is from earlyword.com:

Get ready for another popular vampire novel; coming in April, The Reformed Vampire Support Group sets up the proposition that vampirism is an infectious disease. The afflicted are weak, unable to take nutrition from food and must resist the compulsion to feed off humans infecting them. Yes, some of what we know about vampires is true - they cannot go out in daylight and basically live forever.
The book is written from the point of view of Nina who is forever fifteen (since 1973) and suffers all the adolescent angst that goes with that. She makes her living writing about a strong, avenging fictional vampire while still living with her aging mother. Author Catherine Jinks conjures up an eccentric but believable cast of characters in a page-turning adventure/mystery.
This is a break-out book; I would be surprised if someone hasn’t snapped up the movie rights already.
